Fun Kids Mile
Thanks for joining Austin Runners Club for the 46th running of the Daisy Dash on October 22, 2023. This family-friendly event was the best yet, and it was all thanks to our amazing runners, volunteers, vendors, and most importantly, our sponsors. All proceeds from the event benefitted the Marathon Kids program.
The Daisy Dash is a family-friendly event that features timed 5K and 10K distances and a fun Kids Mile! Both the 5K and 10K start and finish at Daisy Dash Field in southwest Austin. This flat and fast loop course runs through the beautiful City of Sunset Valley, with 5K runners completing one loop and 10K runners completing two loops. The Kids Mile is an out-and-back along Ernest Robles with the same start and finish line as the main race. Once you cross the finish line, enjoy our finisher’s party and celebrate your accomplishments!
Did you know? The Daisy Dash is Austin's oldest 5K race!
Kids Mile Fun Run
What is included with a Daisy Dash Kids Mile Fun Run registration? Each kid will receive an ATHLETE bib and a Marathon Kids silicon wristband when they cross the finish line.
Are there age limits? The Daisy Dash Kids Mile is for children 12 years old and under. Kids older than 12 should register for the 5K. Both distances are friendly to walking.
Can parents run with their children? Parents may run with their children in the Daisy Dash Kids Mile, but are encouraged to let their little ones accomplish the race on their own. The course is closely monitored and secured by race officials and local police.
We ask that parents who choose to run with their children consider making a donation to Marathon Kids in lieu of a registration fee.
If a parent is planning to run with their child, we ask that they are mindful of the other younger runners on the course.
Finish Line & Checkout: Only race personnel and kids participating in the race will be allowed in the finish line chute and checkout areas. Parents should cheer their runners on in the designated cheer sections. Once you see that your child has crossed the finish line and entered the checkout area, please move to the exit area for child pickup.
Congratulations to our top finishers and all of our runners!

All proceeds from the Daisy Dash benefit the Marathon Kids Program.
Founded in 1995, Marathon Kids is the only evidence-based structured physical activity program specifically designed for children in the United States. Using technology and research-proven methods, Marathon Kids aims to get kids moving!
With the help of coaches and mentors, kids in Austin ISD and nationwide set big goals and are challenged to run, jog, walk, or move the equivalent of four (or more!) marathons over the course of a season or school year.
Marathon Kids provides training, tools, and resources to the dedicated coaches, PE teachers, and other community volunteers who motivate kids to take their first step towards a healthier future and positively impact mental health. Since its inception, Marathon Kids has supported over 2.5 million young runners, currently over 200,000 annually.
