There will be 2 options for competing in the Distance Challenge
In-Person: In-person DC runners will participate in the 6 races onsite, race day, at the actual event, and in person. These runners will be eligible for the overall and AG awards which will be presented at the Finisher's Party.
Virtual: Virtual DC runners can compete in the 6 races as virtual, or some races in-person and some races virtual. All virtual participants MUST register for a race's actual virtual race registration and participate in that race's specific virtual race in order to qualify for the DC series. If a participant races in just 1 race as virtual, and all other races in person, they will tracked in the virtual standings. If a participant registers as an "In-person" participant, but at a later point changes a race from in-person to virtual, then they will be moved to the Virtual DC tracking. Virtual DC participants will not be eligible for the overall and AG awards presented at the Finisher's Party.
**Virtual Option for CASA Superhero 5k: This is the only race in the series that does not offer a virtual race entry option. Therefor any DC runners who plan to run the CASA 5K as a virtual race may do so on their own either prior to race day OR on race day (but not after) and submit their virtual 5k result to Andrea Fisher, ARC Partnership & Race Director. Forms of virtual race submission will include (but not be limited to) Strava, Map My Run, Garmin, or other acceptable methods of recording activity and distance. More information on submission for 5k virtual results will be communicated to DC runners at a future date.
