Join us on October 18, 2026, for the 49th annual Daisy Dash, Austin’s oldest 5K, and a celebration of running, community, and the power of movement!
Originally founded as an all-women’s race at a time when opportunities for female runners were limited, Daisy Dash has been breaking barriers and bringing runners together for nearly five decades.
Today, the event welcomes everyone with a timed 5K, 10K, and Kids Dash. We’re proud to continue that legacy by supporting The Girls Movement, a Marathon Kids initiative empowering girls through physical activity, confidence-building, and access to resources that help them thrive.
Whether you’re chasing a personal best, running your first race, or bringing the whole family, there’s a place for you at Daisy Dash.
Come be part of the Daisy Dash tradition and experience the joy of running in an event that truly has a distance for everyone!
The Daisy Dash starts and finishes at Sunset Valley City Hall (3205 Jones Rd, Sunset Valley, TX 78745), taking runners through the streets of Sunset Valley on a relatively flat and fast course.
The 5K follows a single loop, while the 10K completes the same course twice. Whether you're chasing a personal record or enjoying the miles with friends, Daisy Dash offers something for runners and walkers of all abilities.
Our youngest participants can join the fun with the Marathon Kids Dash, featuring 400-meter and 800-meter distances.
After the race, stick around for a lively finish-line festival featuring local vendors, refreshments, music, and plenty of opportunities to celebrate with Austin's running community!
One race can be the beginning of something bigger!
Daisy Dash is the opening race of the 2026–2027 Austin Distance Challenge, a series that brings runners together to take on some of Austin's most iconic races, build toward new goals, and celebrate every milestone along the way.

Daisy Dash began as a celebration of women's participation in running, and nearly 50 years later, we're proud to carry that legacy forward by supporting The Girls Movement, a program of Marathon Kids.
The Girls Movement works to remove barriers that prevent girls from participating in physical activity and sports, helping them build confidence, develop healthy habits, and discover the joy of movement. Through education, community support, and resources like free sports bra fittings, the program helps girls feel comfortable, confident, and empowered to stay active.
By participating in Daisy Dash, you're not just celebrating the history of women's running in Austin. You're helping create opportunities for the next generation of girls to find their stride.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I walk the Daisy Dash? Is there a time limit?
Absolutely! The Daisy Dash welcomes runners and walkers of all paces and abilities. Both the 5K and 10K have a two-hour time limit.
Please note that participants taking longer than 90 minutes may overlap with the Kids Dash on approximately the final 100 meters of the course. We ask everyone to be mindful of our youngest runners as they make their way to the finish line.
Where is water available on the course?
Water will be available at approximately miles 1 and 2.5 of the 5K course. Since the 10K follows the same loop twice, 10K participants will also have water available at approximately miles 4.1 and 5.6.
Are headphones allowed during the race?
Yes! Headphones are allowed, but we encourage the use of open-ear headphones like Shokz. If using traditional headphones, please keep the volume low or leave one ear uncovered so you can hear course volunteers, fellow runners, and important safety instructions.
Are there restrooms available?
Yes! Portable restrooms, including an ADA-accessible unit, will be available near the start/finish area. An additional portable restroom will be located along the course.
Is there a bag check?
No, we do not offer bag check at Daisy Dash. We recommend leaving personal belongings securely in your vehicle and bringing only what you need for the race.
Will there be race photos?
Yes! We'll have photographers capturing the fun throughout the event. Race photos will be available online after the race, and we'll share the link through our website and social media channels.
What happens if there's bad weather?

Can I register on race day?
Yes! Race-day registration is available online, provided the event has not sold out. Simply register using your phone and then visit the registration table to pick up your bib. We recommend registering in advance to save money and make race morning a little easier.
