Austin Runners Club Announces 48th Annual Decker Challenge with New Title Sponsor Next Level Urgent Care

Austin, TX — March 19, 2026 — The Austin Runners Club (ARC) is proud to announce the return of the Decker Challenge, Austin’s oldest long-distance race, on December 13, 2026. Now in its 48th year, this iconic race continues to test and inspire runners with its scenic yet demanding course through Decker Lake.

This year marks an exciting new chapter as ARC welcomes Next Level Urgent Care as the Title Sponsor of the event. Known across Texas for delivering fast, accessible, and high-quality urgent care services, Next Level Urgent Care brings a shared commitment to community health, performance, and resilience.

As part of this partnership, one of the race’s most legendary features—the challenging hill near mile 10—will be rebranded as the “Mile X Hill.” This symbolic “next level” moment represents both the physical and mental strength required to conquer the Decker course and the support runners have along the way.

Throughout race season, Next Level Urgent Care will provide runners with practical health and wellness guidance, including tips for training in Texas heat, navigating hilly terrain, and recognizing when to seek timely medical care. Their involvement underscores the importance of proactive care—helping runners understand when urgent care can be a faster, more efficient alternative to emergency room visits for non-life-threatening injuries.

Adding to the prestige of this year’s event, the 2026 Decker Challenge Half Marathon has been selected as the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) Texas State Championship Race. This designation will bring top competitors from across the state, with awards for overall winners and age group champions post masters in 10-year increments, further elevating the competitive field and excitement.
